At the core of this album is the track 'Friend of a Friend,' the very first acoustic song ever written by Dave Grohl. Grohl penned this song for the first time in Kurt's Olympia apartment, stumbling upon an acoustic guitar belonging to Cobain (as the lyrics suggest, 'It was his friend's guitar'). The recorded version was released in 1992 in a collection of songs titled 'Pocketwatch,' under the pseudonym 'Late!,' marking Dave Grohl's true debut album and laying the groundwork for the Foo Fighters. It was later reworked and included in the 'In Your Honor' album in 2005.
